Job Overview

Position:
Sessional Lecturer in Ecology for Summer 2026. The role involves teaching, grading, and assisting with practical sessions, and supervision of instructional assistants.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. degree in Biology or related field.
  • Previous teaching experience in this course or similar courses.
  • Academic qualifications, teaching ability, and suitability for the position.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver course content, including lectures and practical sessions.
  • Develop, administer, and grade assignments, tests and exams, calculate and submit grades.
  • Hold regular office hours to contact students.
  • Complete all grading, including make‑up exams.
  • Supervise the day‑to‑day work of Sessional Instructional Assistants or Teaching Assistants assigned to the course.
Compensation
  • $9,820.70 – Sessional Lecturer I
  • $10,510.04 – Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term
  • $10,510.24 – Sessional Lecturer II
  • $10,760.28 – Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term
  • $11,030.36 – Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term

Rates inclusive of vacation pay; collective agreement rates prevail if they differ.
