Description:

This course serves as an introduction to the functional areas of business, including accounting, finance, production and marketing. It builds on the material covered in MGTA
01H3.

Qualifications
  • Minimum qualifications:

    Relevant advanced academic degree (Masters degree minimum); demonstrated teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level; experience using technology in both delivery and maintenance of a university course; related professional experience.
  • Preferred qualifications:

    Extensive practical experience in a management role or in management consulting; previous experience teaching large enrolment introductory‑level business or management courses at the university level, with consistent and strong course evaluations.
Duties
  • All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, quizzes, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact; screening, selection and supervision of a team of TAs assigned to the course.

Estimated TA Support (Hours): Approximately 50 minutes per student enrolled over 30

Salary for a half‑course (0.50 FCEs) inclusive of vacation pay: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,820.70. Sessional Lecturer I‑Long Term rate of pay will be $10,510.04. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,510.04. Sessional Lecturer II‑Long Term rate of pay will be $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III‑Long Term rate of pay will be $11,030.36.
