BPM
332H1S – BUDDHISM AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

A multi‑cultural and interdisciplinary study of therapeutically‑oriented practices and theories of the mind. Areas considered include positive psychology, psychoanalysis, cognitive‑behavioural therapy, mindfulness meditation, and Jungian psychology, with comparison to various Buddhist teachings and practices.

Note: This course will be delivered in an in‑person format. However, please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery may change as determined by the Faculty or the Department.

Minimum Qualifications

Completed Ph.D. with a scholarly background in psychology, psychotherapeutic methods, history of science, or Buddhist Studies. Teaching experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant teaching experience at the university level preferred. Experience teaching to large groups is an asset.

Responsibilities

Normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; TA supervision and holding regular office hours.
