This course serves as an introduction to the organizations called businesses. The course looks at how businesses are planned, organized and created, and the important role that businesses play within the Canadian economic system.

QualificationsMinimum qualifications: Completion of a graduate degree related to business or management (e.g. MSc or MBA); several years previous experience in teaching one or more similar courses at the undergraduate (university) level; demonstrated teaching excellence; currency in and mastery of the subject area.
Preferred qualifications: (in addition to minimum) PhD in a related subject area; previous experience teaching one or more similar courses at UTSC; consistent, strong course teaching evaluations.
DutiesThe successful applicant is expected to carry out all of the normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, presentations, quizzes, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, and supervision of the T.A.s assigned to the course.

The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,820.70. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,510.04. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,510.04. Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $11,030.36.
