Course

Description:

Increasingly, the marketplace has come to reward, and government regulators have come to demand a sophisticated managerial approach to the ethical problems that arise in business. Topics include ethical issues in international business, finance, accounting, advertising, intellectual property, environmental policy, product and worker safety, new technologies, affirmative action, and whistle‑blowing.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Experience as a private sector manager or management consultant or in teaching ethics, strategic management, or related topics in a post‑secondary context. Demonstrated excellence in teaching or presenting and mastery of the subject area.

Preferred qualifications:

In addition to the minimum, a graduate degree in law, management, public policy, public administration, philosophy, or political science.

Duties

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, presentations, quizzes, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact; supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

Estimated TA Support

Approximately 50 minutes per student enrolled over 30.

Preference Considerations

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12. In considering qualified applicants, teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area, previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level or similar environment, and several years related professional experience shall be the criteria used in the selection of the most qualified candidate in accordance with Article 14:12.

May 4, 2026 to June 16, 2026.

Exams:
June 17, 2026 to June 20, 2026.

Note:

All positions involve the completion of all course grading. You must be available throughout the exam period as exams are scheduled centrally and individual preferences for exam times/dates cannot always be accommodated.

Compensation

Salary for a half-course (0.50 FCEs) inclusive of vacation pay:
The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,820.70. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,510.04. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,510.04. Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $11,030.36.
