The team Toronto Metropolitan University Housing and Residence Life maintains an extensive Residence Life and Operations program. Our Operations and Administration team supports the ongoing development of community for Residence students through the department's functional areas including residence admissions, finance, facilities, desk operations and summer hotel. Our ultimate goal is to create a community in which students can live and learn in a safe and supportive environment.
The Opportunity As a key member of the Residence Management Team, the Residence Life Manager, Programming oversees the implementation of academic initiatives and residence-wide activities under the direction of the Associate Director. The role leads the day-to-day operations of the Living-Learning Communities, supporting university-wide academic success programs and collaborating with the Residence Life management team to deliver coordinated and impactful programming across residence.
This position is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and professional development of Academic Links (ALs), Academic Link Leads (AL-Ls), and Graduate Advisors (GAs). The incumbent also manages residence community crisis situations, ensuring timely response, appropriate escalation, and effective resolution while on site and during on-call rotations.
This position requires the incumbent to live and work in an assigned on-campus residence. The role involves regular interaction with students and may require managing complex or challenging situations. Equal participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation is required. This position is designated as an essential service role and may require attendance on campus during university closures, including but not limited to emergency or weather-related closures.
On-call responsibilities are compensated in accordance with the MAC and Non-union Pay Schedule.
Residence Life Managers will be provided with a two-bedroom apartment within residence at a discounted rental rate.
