The evolution of European politics, culture, and society from 1914: the two world wars, Fascism and Nazism, the post-1945 reconstruction and the movement towards European integration.
Dates of AppointmentMay 1, 2026 – June 30, 2026
Minimum QualificationsMaster of Arts in History or related field required. Mastery of the subject area as related to the course description. Previous experience or training with Quercus is an asset.
Preferred QualificationsPhD in History preferred. Demonstrated evidence of superior undergraduate teaching.
DutiesDeveloping syllabus; course preparation;
Teaching two two-hour classes weekly, in-person lectures;
Marking;
Supervision of TA(s) in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 Collective Agreement;
Conducting scheduled office hours (1 hour/week)
40 students
Estimated hours per positionApproximately 80 hours
LectureTuesday & Thursday 1:00-3:00pm
Rate of PaySessional Lecturer I: $9,820.70
Sessional Lecturer 1, Long term: $10,510.36
Sessional Lecturer II: $10,510.36
Sessional Lecturer II, Long term: $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III, Long term: $11,030.36
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
