The University of Toronto, Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, invites applications for a two‑year full‑time contractually limited term appointment (CLTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Economics and/or Applied Economics. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026. This appointment may be considered for renewal subject to the required approvals.
Responsibilities- Teach economics courses in the Munk School’s professional graduate programs (Master of Global Affairs and Master of Public Policy) for students from diverse academic backgrounds.
- Prepare and deliver lecture material, develop curriculum, and create course resources.
- Engage in innovative and independent research, establishing an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
- Participate in teaching‑related scholarly activities, including workshops, seminars, and student mentorship.
- Ph.D. degree in Economics (or closely related field).
- Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and/or applied economics.
- Teaching experience in a degree‑granting program, including lecture preparation, delivery, curriculum development, and course material creation.
- Strong commitment to research, teaching, and scholarship.
- Evidence of research excellence: publications in top‑ranked journals or presses, research statements, conference presentations, awards, and peer endorsements.
- Evidence of teaching excellence: teaching accomplishments, dossier, teaching statement, sample course materials, evaluations, and referee endorsements.
