Description:
Quality improvement (QI) is an impactful tool which enables critical problem-solving, a core competency of the Translational Research Program, to identify barriers in the health system, measure and analyze the barriers, identify and implement interventions, and finally, continuously measure the impact of these interventions. Ultimately, utilizing this tool when applied to healthcare promotes overcoming barriers in the system, utilizing the voice of patients and all involved stakeholders, to create impactful benefits for human health.
This module will equip students with:
1. An understanding of the principles of QI and its interconnectivity with translational research.
2. QI methodologies and frameworks that can be applied to real-world problems in health and medicine, which can be used to support research projects.
3. Identify current areas for improvement in the Healthcare system and work through QI frameworks and methodologies to frame the problem, collect and analyze data, ideate interventions, and evaluate the impact of these interventions.

Sessional Lecturer I - $4,910.35
Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term -$5,255.02
Sessional Lecturer II - $5,255.02
Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term - $5,380.14
Sessional Lecturer III - $5,380.14
Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term - $5,515.18

Minimum qualifications: Minimum two years of experience in quality improvement projects.
Preferred qualifications: Masters degree with equivalent professional and/or academic experience is preferred.
Description of duties: Preparation and delivery of course content, including lectures and/or seminars; creation of courseware; the development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations; marking and grading of student work and the submission of grades to appropriate University officials, maintenance of reasonable hours of student contact outside of scheduled contact hours.
