We welcome applications for part‑time teaching opportunities. Course assignments are based on scheduling and instructional needs. Contract faculty typically teach up to 6 hours per week. While some courses may be offered online or in a hybrid format, availability for on‑campus teaching is often preferred.

This course is being taught incorporating a Flex model and will be taught online and onsite on campus.

Option 1: Monday 9:50am-11:35am & Friday 1:30pm-3:15pm
Option 2: Tuesday 9:50am-11:35am & Wednesday 2:24pm-4:10pm

Responsible for providing academic leadership in the classroom and ensuring an effective and compelling learning environment for students. You will…

• Ensure student awareness of course objectives, approach and evaluation techniques.
• Carry out regularly scheduled instruction, which may include tutoring and academic counselling of students.
• Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, work experience and field trips.
• Evaluate student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned courses.

• College Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or an equivalent credential in a related discipline.

• Experience in the subjects taught is an asset.
• In‑depth knowledge of NFPA Standards, specifically NFPA 13 for sprinkler systems.
• Proficiency in Hydraulic Calculations (water flow, pressure, and pipe sizing).
• Competence in CAD software, including Hydra
  
  CAD and AutoCAD, for layout and design.
• Understanding of Building Codes and local fire protection regulations.
• Ability to perform System Layout and Design (sprinkler head placement, zoning).
• Basic knowledge of Plumbing and Mechanical Systems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated exceptional presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to a team approach for problem‑solving and conflict resolution.
• Strong relationships with industry contacts and network connections are an asset.
