Assisting the Director of Student Services with the operation of the Student Services departmentAssisting with the commencement of the academic year i.e. timetable changes, timetable assignments and teacher submissions of course descriptions and/or report card descriptionsCounselling students for academic and social/emotional supportWorking with students to build high school and university pathway plansFulfilling various academic administrative duties, including registration, data entry, reporting, and Ministry requirements related to OEN, OSR, OST, PLAR, OSSLT, OnSIS etc.Providing support to the principal on guidance-related matters and Ministry of Education reportsAssisting with the implementation of special events that occur throughout the school yearDemonstrated passion and leadership in extra-curricular activitiesWorking with students in both group settings and on a one-on-one basis to create an academic plan that relates to tangible career goals that will help students achieve personal success, feel encouraged and envision their futurePreferred Experience
:
Bachelor degree in Education, OCT certificationQualifications in Guidance and Career EducationExperience as a Secondary School Guidance CounsellorSkills to help provide academic advisory services to studentsAbility to implement student leadership lessons and workshopsLiaising and communicating with teachers, students, parents and administratorsWorking with the universities/college application process for Canadian, US and International SchoolsStrong communication skillsStrong collaborative skillsCandidates must provide
