We are currently seeking a Regular Full-Time Manager, Camp, Courses and Studio Programming to join our Education & Programming team.

Working with the Richard & Elizabeth Currie Chief, Education & Programming, the Manager, Courses, Camps and Studio Programming actively guides the AGO’s Courses, Camps & Studio Programming to develop, implement and assess programming that responds to the needs and interests of our diverse audiences. They are actively involved in identifying significant trends in global contemporary visual arts learning and programming along with the ideas, trends and best practices in contemporary culture, museum programming, and learning, including supporting campers and students in our care.

They will work in consultation with colleagues, internally and externally, to create and realize all programs and ensure they support the AGO values of art, audience and learning, and serve diverse AGO audiences and aligns with AGO’s values of respect, openness, collaboration, and accountability. They will actively manage and collaborate with the Courses & Camps team and support the overall direction and goals of the Education & Programming Department, including budgeting and the collection and analysis of data to inform Courses, Camps & Studio Programming decisions that includes child and youth courses, adult courses, and summer camps for children.

The rate of pay for this position is $89,180 – $111,456 per annum.

Program Strategy and Development
  • Working with the Richard and Elizabeth Currie, Chief, Education and Programming, guides a collaborative Courses, Camps, and Studio Programming team in the development and delivery of studio‑based courses for all ages, camps, and institution‑wide studio programming, including corporate, community, and internal workshops, that enhance engagement and learning through the AGO’s exhibitions and collections
  • Contributes to the development of the AGO as a site of dynamic global contemporary programs; builds and initiates positive relationships with museum colleagues and the larger cultural community, locally, nationally and internationally.
  • Positions the AGO as a leader in Course, Camp, and Studio Programming broadly and within the museum field.
  • Collaborates with the Development Division to enhance fundraising opportunities and donor appreciation.
  • Collaborates with Brand and Business Development to strategically place our programs in market to meet our audience and revenue goals.
Staff Management, Operations, And Visitor Experience
  • Manages and supports the logistical planning and onsite coordination of all courses, camps and studio programs.
  • Determines and monitors adherence to professional programming practices ensuring programs deliver stated institutional goals and visitor outcomes.
  • Manages the work performance of related Courses and Camps staff with the support of the Richard & Elizabeth Currie Chief, Education & Programming and when required. This includes hiring, training, assigning, scheduling, monitoring work completion, and managing work performance.
  • Provides best practice training, mentorship and management of the Program Assistants, Program Coordinators, Adult Art Instructors, Children and Youth Art Instructors, seasonal Summer Camp Staff and Volunteers to ensure they run successful programs that align with AODA and Health & Safety standards as well as Education & Programming departmental goals and…
