As a Product Designer II
, you will play a pivotal role in the Design team
, driving impact through intuitive, polished experiences that make our customers’ work easier and more efficient. You’ll contribute to key initiatives across these product areas, helping shape features for an industry that’s ready for innovation. Reporting to Head of Design

- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to create user‑centered solutions that align with user needs and business goals.
- Contribute to product strategy, solution exploration, and functional definition across your product areas.
- Own the design process from early concepts to production‑ready deliverables, including wireframes, user flows, and high‑fidelity designs in Figma.
- Participate in user research activities and translate findings into actionable design insights.
- Incorporate feedback from design reviews and usability testing to iterate quickly and raise the quality bar.
- Partner with engineering during development to ensure design intent and quality are maintained through implementation.
- Help strengthen the design culture at Build Ops through collaboration and knowledge‑sharing.
- 3+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of delivering successful products from concept to launch.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and methodologies, with experience conducting user research, usability testing, and making data‑driven decisions.
- Proven ability to contribute to product strategy, functional definition, and solution exploration—demonstrating ownership beyond traditional UI/UX design.
- Expert proficiency in Figma.
- Proficiency with AI tools to support the design process (synthesis, ideation, prototyping).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to diverse audiences.
- Experience working on enterprise or vertical SaaS products, preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with the commercial trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and/or construction is a plus.
- Understanding of front‑end development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Experience with tools like Dovetail, User Voice, and Jira is a plus.
- A detail‑oriented designer with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex problems with a strong design foundation.
- A self‑starter who takes ownership, learns quickly, and delivers polished results.
- Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn from others across disciplines.
- Willing to travel up to six times per year for team meetings and customer visits.
