Structural Designer - Packaging

Synergie is currently seeking a Structural Designer for our Etobicoke, ON area client, a trusted packaging manufacturer.

Responsibilities

• Creation of conceptual sketches to meet client objectives, model white and/or mock up prototypes.
• Organizing, planning and tracking the direction & status of projects, interactions with cross functional groups
• Creating and managing working drawings and samples (and revisions to those drawings) and other documentation relating to the structural and planogram information
• Implementation of documentation drawings such as component specifications and Bill of Materials to meet best practice objectives
• Job intake of graphics from customers
• Building of artwork, colour adjustment
• Basic understanding of Bar Codes and how to apply them to corrugated printing
• Knowledge of flexographic plate production procedures
• Operating the CAD table in a safe and effective manner when required
• Knowledge of packaging and shipping methods to assure shipping certification
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Industrial or Structural Design, Package Design, or Design Engineering
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in related field (structural, graphics)
• Three plus years’ experience in point-of-purchase displays or related industrial experience
• Must be familiar with all grades and flutes of corrugated and foam
• Solid computer skills, proficient in using MS Office, MAC, Artios
  
  CAD, Esko cutting table software, Adobe Acrobat Illustrator and Photoshop
