Our in-house design departments include Architecture, Interior Design and Experiential Graphic Design. In addition, we have a Digital Practice Department, who commits to the implementation of BIM, research + development, and the infusion of cutting-edge technology into our projects and practice.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Designer with strong visual communication skills to support project teams in creating designs that are both visually compelling and functional. You bring creativity and problem-solving skills, enabling you to develop solutions to complex challenges. With mentorship from experienced Studio Members, you will contribute to schematic design, design development, and documentation, applying design principles to residential typologies.
Responsibilities- Create design concepts and/or development of detailed plans in collaboration with the design team to meet project requirements and design intent.
- Gather and assess documentation provided by external stakeholders and integrate relevant information into design deliverables as directed.
- Acquire all necessary materials and conduct research as directed by Project Manager to support the project's progression and ensure well-informed design decisions.
- Develop current knowledge of updates and changes to building codes, by-laws, and regulations, ensuring that design decisions align with the latest standards and requirements.
- Revise and improve designs based on mark ups and feedback, with a focus on contributing to the project's success through continuous improvement and attention to detail.
- Degree/Diploma from an accredited institution in Architecture.
- Recent graduate or around 1 year of experience within an Architecture firm.
- Experiences in Revit, Sketch Up or Rhino
- Experiences in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes and municipal by-laws with experience in the municipal approval process.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid role, with 2 days in the Studio.
