Ready to dive into the world of communication consulting?

At Eckler, our Communication Consulting team has built a reputation for being trusted, passionate, and seriously creative. As a team, we deliver human-centric communication solutions that support understanding, inspire greater connection, and cultivate genuine engagement with each other, and the human resources programs our clients make available to their people. We pride ourselves on delivering solutions that are purpose-driven, pragmatic, and visionary, rolling up our sleeves to do what it takes to get things done.

If you’re a writer who’s eager to do more than just write, step right up for your chance to work alongside a talented crew of communication strategists, designers, fellow writers, marketing pros, and web gurus. Together, you’ll bring to life creative solutions that help our clients communicate pension, benefits, and total rewards to their employees at some of Canada’s leading brands and professional organizations.

Curious what that looks like? Visit us at  to get a glimpse!

Reporting to the Director, you’ll collaborate with the entire team, helping projects flow smoothly from concept to completion. Writing will be your superpower, but you’ll also participate in activities that contribute to successful projects – budget and project planning and management, participating in team and client meetings, and being an exceptional communicator as you apply your talents to other communication areas including website and video creation.

We’re a team who rolls up their sleeves to get things done, which brings a host of opportunities straight to your laptop!

This posting is for an existing vacancy that we are actively seeking to fill.

What you’d be responsible for:
  • Write content on a range of pension, benefits, and total rewards-related topics, simplifying complex concepts into compelling, employee/plan member-friendly deliverables
  • Rewrite and adapt materials for alternative formats (i.e., adapting booklets for web content)
  • Update client website content (using Word Press) and build and develop high-impact emails (using Constant Contact)
  • Conduct thorough editing and proofreading of deliverables, with careful attention to detail and overall quality
  • Review design layouts for formatting, visual appeal, and accuracy
  • Coordinate with our print production coordinator, ensuring every project runs smoothly, on time, and is error-free
  • Ensure all materials are editorially and technically peer reviewed before being sent to clients
  • Participate in the full project management cycle, including creating initial fee estimates for projects, building and managing project plans (using Asana), and ensuring quality and timely delivery of tasks from all contributing parties (writers, reviewers, designers, translators, etc.)
  • Participate in the development of materials for employee/plan member research initiatives (e.g., surveys, executive interviews, focus groups)
What we’re looking for:

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative work environment, can shift between priorities with agility, and possesses the following attributes:

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a communication role
  • College or university degree in Communication, English, or Journalism (or relevant experience)
  • Excellent writing skills (and by “excellent” we mean “outstanding”)
  • Strong editing and proofing skills
  • Proficiency with the entire Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (we don’t mean Google Docs)
  • Experience tailoring writing styles and content to match the needs of specific target audiences and comply with brand-defined voices
  • Willingness to continually learn about pensions, benefits, and other human resources programs, and stay current with industry trends/developments
  • Self-starter who enjoys taking initiative, owning tasks, and seeing them through to completion
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adjust priorities quickly, while keeping everyone in the know
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with a range of stakeholders and teams (colleagues, other internal resources, clients, vendors, etc.)
