Social Media Assistant

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Social Media Assistant is responsible for creating social media content, as well as helping build a community through IGNITE’s existing social media profiles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creates social media content meant to inform and engage the student body through Instagram, You Tube, Facebook and Tik Tok
• Post on social media all newsworthy IGNITE initiatives happening on campus
• Keep up to date with social media news and trends
• Create and post live content from IGNITE’s events
• Ensure standards are met for the IGNITE Style guidelines
• Compile and report analytics

• Strong digital technology experience
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to think strategically, formulate and execute plans to meet organizational goals
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills; conflict management
• Superb ability to manage time and stay organized
• Ability to work both independently and as a team
• A successful track record working in a high-volume environment

• Must either be a current Humber College or the University of Guelph-Humber fee paying student at the time of application
• Web writing experience an asset
• Social media and content creation experience an asset
• Minimum 1-year social media experience, 2-3 samples required at application
• Experience with Canva and video editing apps like Cap Cutor In Shot
• Must be comfortable appearing on camera and on social media platforms
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop an asset

  Weekly social media team meeting

  Edit upcoming Instagram reel

  Write copy for future social media posts
