As a Copywriter at The Pub, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our clients’ digital assets. In partnership with an Art Director, you will collaborate with a creative team to develop and execute digital assets (web and social) for a national (U.S.) client.
Working in close partnership with an Art Director and the broader creative team, you will help translate big ideas and promotional strategies into clear, channel‑specific copy that supports a U.S. retail client’s business goals, member value messaging, and established brand voice. Success in this role requires comfort working at speed, managing ambiguity, and building content systems that scale across multiple tactics.
Responsibilities- Translate creative briefs, promotional strategies, and brand guidelines into clear, effective, and on‑brand copy across digital channels including web, social, paid media, and retail placements.
- Develop tactical content that aligns with clients’ brand identities and marketing objectives.
- Apply and adapt established messaging frameworks, tone, and voice across multiple formats and placements.
- Interpret and refine evolving client direction, helping shape content structure, hierarchy, and messaging when inputs are incomplete.
- Build and apply light content strategy when needed, extending a core idea across multiple tactics, placements, and formats.
- Partner closely with Art Directors, Designers, and Account Managers to ensure copy and visuals are cohesive, accurate, and aligned.
- Support video and motion content through scripting, storyboards, and copy direction in collaboration with production teams.
- Ensure all copy meets brand standards, legal requirements, and production specifications.
- Manage multiple work streams simultaneously while meeting tight, retail‑driven deadlines.
- Present work internally and to clients as needed, clearly articulating messaging decisions and executional rationale.
- Post‑secondary education in Advertising or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a copywriting role, preferably within an advertising, retail or related environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work.
- Excellent project management and production skills.
- Experience in directing video shoots and collaborating with production teams.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high‑quality, impactful work.

SalaryTransparency matters to us. The salary range for this position is $85K‑$95K per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on current market data.
