Bitmoji Senior 3D Artist - Character Artist

We’re looking for a 3D Artist to join the Bitmoji Team at Snap!

• Support Content Leads by assisting with supervisory, review, and organizational tasks, including processes, workflows, and project allocation.
• Lead individual projects and communicate project needs and progress to team stakeholders.
• Work with the Content Team to create optimized 3D models, UVs, and Textures for avatar art that will be seen and shared by millions of people around the world.
• Create high‑poly and low‑poly models for Bitmoji avatars in accordance to specific technical requirements and limitations.
• Ensure high fidelity of modeling quality and optimization based on concepts and instructions from Content Leads.
• Create clean topology that is suitable for deformation.
• Quickly learn and adapt to new programs and processes for current and upcoming projects.
• Contribute to team development through art critiques and by mentoring and training team members.
• Communicate personal production goals to Content Leads.
• Understand technical needs of new projects, and collaborate with other teams, as needed.
• Continuously evaluate projects’ overall look, feel, and aesthetics.
• Take an active role in cultivating a dynamic and creative environment.

• Superior knowledge of low poly organic modeling (stylized characters, clothing) and optimizing for real‑time.
• Excellent understanding of topology and in using edge loops for deformation and animation.
• Experience producing blend shapes (facial expressions and lipsync morph targets), as well as rigging.
• Ability to create and curate complex smart materials & other artist tools that team can re‑use across assets.
• Excellent team, communication, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional skills in various design disciplines, commitment to highest quality of design and an eye for detail.

• Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Animation, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a 2D or 3D modeling role.
• A strong 3D design portfolio featuring appealing stylized characters, clothes, organic props and superior grasp of composition.

• 3+ shipped real‑time game or film/tv titles.
• Proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
• Experience with P  texture creation and material setup.
• Experience creating starter files, templates, materials, and actions within software to streamline processes.
• Experience working with avatar systems, modular asset creation, or digital fashion libraries is a plus!
• Experience with AR and Lens Studio is a plus!
• A passion for Bitmoji, Snapchat, and creativity!
