Project Opportunity

FCC Canada, in a 50/50 joint venture with Webuild Civil Works Inc., will deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line. This includes the design, construction, supply, and operation of three kilometres of twin tunnels underneath Pape Avenue between the Gerrard tunnel portal and the Don Valley bridge, two underground stations (Pape and Cosburn), two tunnel portals, three emergency exit buildings, and a rail switch/crossover near Sammon Avenue.

The Pape Station connection will interface with the Toronto Transit Commission Line 2 subway and related works.

The project uses a Progressive Design-Build (PDB) model, allowing greater collaboration between the project owner and contractor.

Health and Safety Intern

We are looking for a driven Health and Safety Intern to join our team and support safety initiatives within the transit infrastructure and construction space. This is a great opportunity for students to apply their academic learning, contribute to a safe work environment, and gain hands‑on experience in occupational health and safety practices, compliance, and contractor oversight on a large‑scale infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Support reporting activities in Glaass, including inspections, incident reports, and corrective action tracking.
  • Help monitor, track, and document near misses and safety observations for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering toolbox talks and supporting safety meetings.
  • Support the review and collection of safety documentation for subcontractor onboarding.
  • Perform data entry and assist in maintaining safety dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Record minutes of safety meetings and help ensure timely follow-up on action items.
Education And Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an Occupational Health & Safety program.
  • No prior experience required; exposure to construction sites considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Job Requirements
  • Technical:
    Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
    Power BI considered an asset; ability to interpret OHSA and construction regulations.
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong communication and teamwork abilities; attention to detail; initiative; problem‑solving mindset.

Salary Banding: $45,000 - $55,000
