In partnership with Metrolinx, ACCIONA is playing a key role in the design and construction of the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE), a 9.2‑kilometre westward addition to Toronto’s Line 5 light rail transit network. This major infrastructure project includes seven new stations and installation of rail and systems under a progressive design‑build model.
Beyond its technical scope, the ECWE project represents a significant investment in sustainable urban mobility, expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 5,800 tonnes annually and eliminate over 6.5 million vehicle trips each year when combined with the full Line 5.

Architectural Construction ManagerThe Architectural Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all architectural and finishes construction activities for stations and related structures. This role ensures architectural works are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and schedule compliance, while maintaining alignment with design intent and project specifications. The position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality architectural outcomes for the project.
Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the construction of architectural finishes, including cladding, glazing, roofing, flooring, ceilings, partitions, and station fit‑out.
- Ensure compliance with architectural design specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, MEP, and systems works to maintain seamless integration.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, with demonstrated leadership of health and safety and adherence to safety requirements.
- Oversee inspections, quality checks, and mock‑ups to verify materials and workmanship.
- Review and resolve technical issues in coordination with the design team and construction engineers.
- Track progress against schedule and support planning teams with accurate reporting.
- Manage change orders, RFIs, and technical submittals related to architectural works.
- Support risk management by identifying and mitigating issues affecting architectural construction.
- Foster innovation and best practices in architectural construction methods and materials.
- Assist in preparing budgets, cost estimates, and scope definitions.
- Prepare or review RFPs, tenders, bid packages, and evaluate contractor proposals.
