We are seeking a Health & Safety /Manager to lead and oversee health and safety compliance on projects, ensuring alignment with legislation, contractual requirements, and company policies. This role supports risk management, site inspections, incident reporting, training, and the ongoing implementation of effective Health & Safety practices.
What you’ll do- Advise on, monitor, enforce compliance with health and safety legislation, contractual obligations and internal policies
- Identify hazards and uncontrolled risks, manage incident and accident reporting, and support investigations and corrective actions
- Conduct site inspections, audits, inductions, and Health & Safety training
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of project and company Health & Safety management systems and plans
- Prepare Health & Safety performance and communicate results to management
- Coordinate Health & Safety meetings and respond to emergency situations.
- Ensure subcontractors and suppliers comply with project and company Health &Safety requirements, including prequalification, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring
- Act as the point of contact with regulatory authorities, clients, and auditors for Health & Safety matters, including inspections, audits, and corrective action follow-up.
- Analyze H&S data, trends, and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and recommend preventive measures.
- Minimum five years of Occupational Health & Safety experiencee, preferably on infrastructure or construction projects
- CSO designation and/or National Construction Safety Officer
- Strong knowledge of applicable construction Health & Safety legislation, with emphasis on Ontario H&S requirements
- Ability to communicate Health and Safety policies effectively, both verbally and in writing
