The Electrical Estimator is located in Scarborough and typically reports directly to the Chief Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for all aspects of estimating and will ensure strict adherence to B&M policies and procedures relating to the estimating process. The Estimator shall also liaise with customers to ensure continuity of work opportunities and with vendors to maintain competitiveness within the industry.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specificationsAdvise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awardsParticipates in site review, tender review, tender hand-off, project closing and operational/sector meetingsPrepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractorsLiaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractorsCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of electrical estimating or construction programSeveral years’ experience working in the electrical construction sectorWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
10+ years’ experience in estimating electrical ICI construction work, preferably on P3 projectsSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Proficient knowledge and understanding of:
Estimate closureProject electrical design interpretationConstruction scheduling, planning, and executionOrganization and time managementExcellent communications skillsSelf-motivated and able to work with deadlinesAdvanced user of:
