Job OverviewThe Construction Assistant will support the construction department by preparing project documentation, collaborating with various teams, and providing administrative assistance. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities- Assist in preparing project documentation for submittals for the construction department.
- Collaborate with the construction director, construction project managers and coordinator to track project progress, schedule and staff updates.
- Work with Leadership, Commercial, Technical, H&S, Quality, Environmental, and HR teams to develop general and specific documentation as demanding.
- Attend and participate in project meetings, providing updates on tasks, challenges, and potential solutions.
- Managing meetings, taking the notes for minutes, and following up all items ensuring all of them being addressed and closed in timely manner.
- Assist in resolving project issues and mitigating risks by communicating effectively with various stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support, including maintaining project schedules, organizing project files, and assisting with reports and presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project coordination or related role with experience in large infrastructure project preferred.
- Experience in City of Toronto or other Metrolinx projects for Transit Stations is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction practices, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, under different weather and environmental conditions.
