Camp Tamakwa is hiring a Night Security for 2026!

The Night Security position is an integral role Night Security is responsible for watching over camp during the hours the campers are asleep. The main responsibilities are; ensure that all campers remain in their cabins during the night, locking and unlocking of the staff phone, emptying the garbage after staff snack, helping with the cleaning of the dining hall, ensuring all fires have been extinguished, turning off all lights that have been left on and the restocking of the main camp bathrooms.

Applicants must be able to work by themselves and adjust to working night shifts throughout camp season.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Ensure the safety of campers

Complete routine safety checks of property

Enforce the camp rules and using a strong sense of judgement accordingly

Document detailed reports of incidents that may occur

Complete property maintenance checks and janitorial duties

Job Requirements

Strong sense of responsibility and self sufficiency

Ability to work under minimal supervision

Ability to communicate and work with youth

Ability to observe camper behaviour, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures

Demonstrates a high level of integrity, honesty and professionalism

Willing to work night shifts
