“Camp Inspire” provides a wide range of recreational, arts, sports, and team-building activities, all designed to help campers develop self-esteem and essential life skills. Through engaging, structured programming, campers will build teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities while enjoying a variety of fun and challenging activities.
As a Site Lead in “Camp Inspire”, you will lead and inspire a team to deliver a high-quality program for TCHC youth aged 6-12. Reporting to the Camp TCHC Leadership Team, you’ll supervise camp staff, have responsibility for site operations, plan and implement daily activities and programming, complete administrative tasks, and ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment where every camper feels supported and empowered.
Program Timelines:
The contract term for this position will be approximately 16 weeks, working up to approximately 36.25 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to attend as per the program timelines below.
- Training dates:
Friday, May 1st and 8th and Saturday, May 2nd and 9th, 2026 (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) - Camp dates:
Monday, July 6th - Friday, August 21st, 2026 (8:45 AM - 4:15 PM)
IMPORTANT: Training is mandatory for all hires and not optional. If candidates are unable to attend all mandatory trainings they will not be considered for the role. Majority of training sessions will be at a TCHC location in the Regent Park area.
Responsibilities- Full responsibility for the camp site, overseeing staff’s day-to-day responsibilities, campers, operations, and the implementation of programming, quality control and safety.
- Conduct daily program audits to ensure that program plans are being followed and make amendments to meet the needs and skills of staff and campers.
- Assign daily tasks to camp site staff and conduct daily checks to ensure that those tasks are being completed according to program standards and provide support and coaching where needed.
- Ensure program standardization at camp site on a daily basis as per master camp plan provided to each site by Camp leadership team and provide quality assurance supports to get site back on track when no longer aligned with Master Camp plan.
- Arrives first to site at 8:30 AM and prepare morning reporting documents including daily staff attendance sign-in, site readiness checklist and sends reports to PC by 8:55 AM.
- Once Senior Program Leaders have completed camper attendance, reach out to parents who have not confirmed camper attendance status and then send full attendance report to Program Coordinator.
- Plan and implement a midpoint staff Professional Development day for site staff.
- Oversee on-site petty cash and purchase supplies as needed.
- Coordinate specialized Camp days for their respective site by securing site-specific facilitators/guest speakers etc.
- Participate in weekly regional site meetings and provide Camp site progress reports and issues action plans to PCs.
- Ensure Camp schedule is completed 2 weeks in advance and approved by Program Coordinator.
- Plan all site-specific excursions that require campers to be bused and delegate staff responsibilities for offsite excursions.
- Liaise with all site-specific vendors ensuring all vendors are properly set up within HOMES (support with setup where needed) before they deliver their requested services.
- Conduct community asset mapping to ensure that campers become aware of community resources in fun and creative ways.
- Plan and implement site community engagement initiative such as a Camp open house and/or talent show for parents at the midpoint and end of Camp.
- Monitor site phone and email, create site newsletter that is emailed to parents, monitor and respond to all parent communication that is sent to the email.
- Provide direct programming when site is short staffed due to absence or need for assistance to complete their roles.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings and daily debriefs with site staff to ensure they have the resources needed to effectively implement the Camp program.
