The Granite Club is looking for a Seasonal Activity Camp Counselor for March Break between the dates of March 9th–20th, 2026. They will be responsible for providing a safe, stimulating environment for the children in the Camp programs. This permits parents to participate more freely in sports and social activities offered at the club.

- Have campers participate in a variety of activities, including sports, arts, science, and outdoor play.
- Adapt activities to suit various age groups, skill levels, and learning styles while ensuring inclusivity for campers with special needs.
- Foster creativity, teamwork, and participation by encouraging campers to try new activities and express themselves.
- Explore different sports and games, building teamwork and coordination skills. Be available to work for all 9 weeks of summer camp.
- Be on time for shift and ensure all materials are ready 15 minutes before camp starts.
- Drop off between 8:50 am – 9:05 am ensuring safe check‑in and check‑out.
- Maintain professionalism.
- Be motivated and have high energy throughout the day.
- Learn best practices for teaching camp activities, including working with campers with special needs, using inclusive teaching methods, and general camp management.
- Take attendance before and after each transition to ensure all campers are accounted for.
- Model good behaviour for campers as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, and respectfulness.
- Develop age‑appropriate weekly program plans to be implemented on a daily basis.
- Lead and support campers as they participate in age‑appropriate activities.
- Monitor campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidents.
- Report and record details of accidents or incidents.
- Participate in regular staff meetings.
- Participate in training session prior to the start of camp.
- Be able to enter the swimming pool shallow end every day with campers.
- Work with other camp counsellors to plan and coordinate camp events.
- Provide an engaging, stimulating, and safe environment for campers to participate in.
- Ensure First Aid Kit is up to date and with group at all times.
- Provide parents with positive feedback of their child’s day.
- Be aware of any medical forms, alternate pick‑up person, allergies, or dietary restrictions of campers.
- Make sure area is cleaned at the end of each class and at the end of the day.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Grade 12.
- Valid CPR & Emergency First Aid Required.
- Responsible, patient person who must have a genuine love for children.
- Experience working with preschool aged children would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a camp counsellor an asset.
- Previous experience with one of the following:
Art, Drama, Science, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Dance, French, Tennis, Squash, and Badminton is an asset. - Required to work a flexible schedule including weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
The hourly rate for this position is $17.60 per hour.
