This role is designed for a highly experienced, partially retired facilities, procurement, or operations professional with deep industry relationships who enjoys opening doors, advising leadership, and helping organizations gain access to strategic vendor opportunities.
The mandate is industry partnerships and new business development only. The advisor will leverage an established network to secure vendor approvals, preferred vendor list placements, and pricing opportunities with commercial, residential, institutional, and public-sector organizations. Once relationships and pathways are established, the role requires limited ongoing involvement and offers significant flexibility.
This is an independent contractor engagement with a strong performance-based upside.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage existing facility management and procurement relationships to generate new partnership and business opportunities.
- Facilitate placement on preferred vendor and pre-qualification lists with large commercial, institutional, and public-sector clients.
- Introduce the organization to FM, procurement, and operational decision-makers.
- Enable pricing and bid opportunities by positioning the firm for inclusion in competitive processes.
- Advise leadership on navigating procurement structures, approval pathways, and vendor compliance requirements
- Represent the organization discreetly and professionally within industry networks.
- Provide strategic guidance based on prior experience, without involvement in day-to-day operations.
- Participate in periodic check-ins as required; otherwise operate independently and remotely.
Key Qualifications:
- Senior background in facility management, procurement, operations, or related commercial services.
- Established, active relationships within major FM organizations and institutional clients.
- Ability to directly access and influence FM and procurement decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of vendor approval, pre-qualification, and procurement processes.
- Free of conflicts of interest that would limit business development activities.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a consulting and advisory capacity.
- Excellent communication skills and market research capabilities
- Enjoys mentoring, advising leadership, and enabling growth rather than execution.
- Reliable, self-directed, and results-oriented.
- Comfortable with performance-based compensation structures.
Compensation:
The successful candidate will receive a stable monthly retainer for consulting and strategy support + commissions and bonuses based on new business and projects won.
