Our events bring together senior decision-makers across AI, healthcare, finance, customer experience, data, HR, and emerging technologies. We are expanding our portfolio and are hiring a dedicated Conference Researcher to strengthen our idea of validation and market intelligence capabilities.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a strategic, commercially minded Conference Researcher responsible for identifying, validating, and pressure-testing new event concepts before they move into production. This role is focused exclusively on research, validation, and commercial feasibility—not event execution.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct structured validation calls with 20–40 potential delegates and 10–20 potential sponsors per concept.
- Assess willingness to attend, budget ownership, competitive landscape, and timing feasibility.
- Track competing events globally and analyze pricing, attendance, sponsors, and differentiation.
- Build market opportunity scorecards and produce Go / No-Go recommendations.
- Develop target delegates and sponsor databases to support future launches.
- Produce 1–2 validated event business cases per month.
- Contribute to quarterly trend intelligence reports and annual opportunity mapping.
- Assess buying authority, budget ownership, urgency, and competitive positioning.
- Develop total addressable market (TAM) estimates and revenue projections.
- Benchmark global competitor events (pricing, audience size, sponsor mix, positioning).
- Build target delegates and sponsor databases to accelerate launches.
- Test ideas that have been created by management to validate them.
- Identify white‑space opportunities within North American B2B event markets.
- 2–5 years of experience in research, consulting, B2B market intelligence, publishing, or conference production.
- Strong phone‑based research and stakeholder interviewing skills.
- Analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
- Ability to build structured reports, competitive analyses, and business cases.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in B2B conferences or events is an asset.
