OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Non-IT) to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from initiation through implementation in support of key business objectives. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and within quality standards, while ensuring strong stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
This role is ideal for a seasoned project leader with strong judgment, executive-level communication skills, and deep experience navigating large enterprise environments with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – approximately 2–3 days in office, subject to change)
Contract Length: 6 Months (Extension Possible)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Overtime as approved)
Pay Rate: $98 (Incorporated)
Lead assigned projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring successful business outcomes as the primary measure of success.
Provide guidance and strategic advice to project sponsors on project execution, sustainment, and benefit realization.
Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including business, operational, and non-IT deliverables, ensuring all required processes and artifacts are completed.
Develop, execute, and socialize change management plans; monitor adoption and effectiveness to ensure expected benefits are achieved.
Execute project requirements within governance frameworks aligned to risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and compliance standards.
Develop and maintain all required project management artifacts in alignment with enterprise standards.
Monitor and control scope, schedule, cost, and quality; recommend adjustments to project plans to achieve objectives.
Provide ongoing assessment of business case viability, including costs, benefits, KPIs, and financial forecasts.
Identify project interdependencies and proactively assess risks; establish and execute effective mitigation strategies.
Build strong stakeholder partnerships through clear, effective communication; establish trust and credibility with sponsors and senior leaders.
Demonstrate accountability for identifying, escalating, and resolving project issues and risks.
Lead and represent projects in team meetings, governance forums, and cross-departmental discussions.
Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business groups, providing strategic input into planning and decision-making.
Influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve business objectives and resolve conflicts.
Assist in the development of strategic plans and sequencing of business initiatives.
Identify emerging trends and issues to inform decision-making and project prioritization.
Conduct independent analysis to resolve complex strategic and operational challenges.
Serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and validate project budgets, forecasts, and ongoing financial reconciliation.
Design and produce regular and ad-hoc project reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
Direct projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and consultants.
Exercise direct accountability for projects with up to 25–50 team members, depending on scope and complexity.
Negotiate vendor contracts in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing to secure required resources and services.
Take full ownership of projects from initiation through closure, ensuring all deliverables and documentation are completed.
Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
6–8 years of hands‑on project management experience leading complex, enterprise‑level initiatives.
PMP certification from PMI is considered an asset.
Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments.
Expert‑level stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to navigate challenging situations and resolve project issues effectively.
Strong understanding and application of project management methodologies and frameworks.
Proven ability to manage business and project risks, including interdependencies.
Highly developed analytical, problem‑solving, and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities.
Strong influence, negotiation, and collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams.
Ability to manage ambiguity while maintaining delivery discipline and accountability.
Post‑secondary degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
