In this role you will direct, facilitate, and/or administer the planning, execution, measurement, and reporting of technical underwriting learning and development and transformational training initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of UW Quality and Governance, Canada, you will identify and respond to the learning needs of our underwriters, creating timelines, agendas, goals and metrics/measurements to ensure the technical credibility, accuracy, and business relevance of the training.

This is a hybrid work opportunity.

What you will do
  • Participate in the planning, execution, and measurement of business unit/strategic support unit underwriter training initiatives.
  • Take a holistic approach to identifying underwriter learning and development improvement opportunities, develop solutions, manage initiatives, and identify the resources and various disciplines needed to execute change.
  • Design, facilitate and/or participate in cross-functional training projects that promote organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Ensure specific metrics and measures incorporated into solutions reflect the business strategy, track progress, capture the impact of changes and identify further opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate the strategic and/or tactical business planning process and provide methodologies and tools to sponsors and teams to drive initiatives to intended results.
  • Assess risks associated with the execution of training projects, reporting to sponsor/steering committees to ensure risks are understood and agree appropriate action.
  • Ensure appropriate change management practices are effectively utilized throughout the lifecycle to improve execution and delivery of results. Demonstrate an ability to create a "win / win" solution through leadership, influence, facilitation and teamwork.
Job Qualifications – What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience in Learning & Development, including delivery, assessment, and needs analysis.
  • OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in Learning & Development, including delivery, assessment, and needs analysis.
  • AND
  • Strong technical underwriting experience in one or more lines of business.
  • Practical adult learning experience, including delivery, assessment, and needs analysis.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with project management experience.
  • Knowledgeable of data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
