Your Opportunity

Our Toronto office is looking for a Manager to join its Strategy, Value Creation & Analytics practice in our Financial Advisory Services team. This is a new role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the below.

Strategy, Value Creation & Analytics helps companies drive profitable growth and improve financial and operational performance. We assist our clients in navigating urgent and critical situations where significant value is at stake, including defining moments such as M&A transactions, business transformation, growth, or recovery. Strategy, Value Creation & Analytics take a practical and hands-on approach to rapidly identify high-impact initiatives that drive improved EBITDA and cash flow via a data-driven approach.

The types of projects the team works on include:

  • Performance improvement and turnaround
  • Strategy and business planning
  • Revenue growth and margin improvement
  • Cost reduction and working capital optimization
  • Process improvement and operating model design
  • M&A:

    Integration or carve-out/separation planning and execution

    Market, commercial, and operational due diligence

    Pre-divestiture performance improvement

    Synergies analysis
  • Business transformation
  • Applied business analytics
  • In your role as a Manager, you will:

  • Conduct detailed research and analysis of client, industry, and market performance and develop practical strategies and action plans, including supporting financial analysis/models and implementation plans
  • Consult with client personnel and participate in and/or lead client meetings and interviews
  • Lead content development for client projects – including identifying hypotheses, determining required analysis, outlining project plans, crafting insights and recommendations
  • Display the expertise and ability to work across several of the Strategy, Value Creation & Analytics project areas listed above
  • Contribute to the practice’s sales, business development, and marketing activities (including networking, proposals, prospect meetings, and presentations)
  • Identify new and/or additional opportunities to assist existing clients
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, both internal and external
  • Be engaged in the development and management of the Strategy, Value Creation & Analytics practice
  • Coach and mentor other team members to their highest potential

  • Completed undergraduate university degree with outstanding academic credentials
  • Professional designations (e.g., CPA, P.Eng, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) and/or Master's level university education would be considered an asset
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience with strategy, financial planning & analysis, business transformation and/or management consulting; prior experience in the above-mentioned project areas would be an asset
  • Understanding of use cases and potential to apply Artificial Intelligence to create opportunities for value creation and business transformation would be an asset
  • Superior verbal, interpersonal, leadership, and written communication skills
  • Strong PowerPoint design, layout, and storyboarding skills
  • Skilled in financial analysis or modeling, data analytics and visualization, market research and analysis, internal/external analysis, project problem diagnosis, and solution development
  • Familiarities with modern data analytics and AI tools and software, such as Tableau, Power BI, ChatGPT, Notion, or similar platforms
  • Motivated to be market-facing and driving relationships that lead to future work
  • Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and propose ideas
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous, rigorous, and able to work under pressure
  • The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel when necessary
