Position: Supervisor, Technical Procurement (AOG & Purchasing)

Job Summary

Reporting to Manager, Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain the Supervisor of Technical Procurement is responsible for overseeing and directing all activities related to the procurement of aircraft parts, materials, and services, with a primary focus on minimizing Aircraft downtime and ensuring efficient supply chain support for planned maintenance (Line Maintenance and Heavy Checks). This role manages the AOG team and Purchasing team.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Be the primary point of contact for escalation and decision-making for all AOG procurement actions, overseeing a 24/7 team available to coordinate critical parts and logistics.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain expedited AOG procedures to ensure the fastest possible sourcing, negotiation, and delivery of required parts.
  • Consolidated quarterly AOG reviews to align with material forecasting.
  • Supervise and mentor the Procurement team, setting performance goals and managing daily workloads.
  • Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans for high-value and long lead-time components.
  • Support in creation, issuance, execution and monitoring of policies & procedures.
  • Monitor workforce level and adjust as required.
  • Responsible for time keeping and overtime approvals.
  • Collaborate with other teams such as Stores, Inventory Control, Planning etc. to process part queries and technical assistance requests.
  • Accurately process all purchase, exchange, loan orders and service bulletin orders to ensure an uninterrupted flow of aircraft parts to the operation, ensuring that vendors meet the agreed turnaround time.
  • Coordinate Line Maintenance, AOG, and Heavy Maintenance requirements and communicate among the various teams involved to ensure that parts are sourced accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review vendor competencies and ensure that procured parts have required certifications.
  • Maintain records and files according to the company’s policy, including vendor audit forms.
  • Proactively work on clarifications and discrepancies with all stakeholders as they occur.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary education in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry required.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory/leadership role required.
  • Previous experience in a procurement role required.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Effective analytical and presentation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with AMOS an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
