As a Business Development Senior Associate within PwC’s Corporate Finance practice, you’ll be responsible for connecting with privately‑owned companies to build relationships and identify opportunities for our practice and firm. Success requires ambition, organization, professionalism, fluency in English and French, strong communication skills, and rapport‑building abilities. Knowledge of M&A is beneficial. Performance is recognized and rewarded. Most workdays are at PwC’s 18 York office in Toronto.
Meaningfulwork you will be part of
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with a high‑performance team of corporate development and M&A professionals
- Leveraging a variety of proprietary and external databases and tools
- Developing new relationships and managing existing relationships
- Ensuring timely and accurate documentation within a CRM
- Interest in learning and adapting to new technology tools
- Working in close alignment with PwC’s Deals practice on client projects and broader business development initiatives
- Operating effectively in a dynamic environment where it’s important to think creatively, problem‑solve independently and maintain a positive attitude during sometimes challenging situations
- Developing a deep understanding of PwC and its service offerings, as well as our clients and their growth ambitions. Taking accountability for project risk management and identifying commercial, regulatory, contractual and delivery related risks
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, business administration or a related field1 to 3+ years of experience in corporate sales, enterprise business development, or corporate development roles
- Fluency in French and full business proficiency in English required. Additional languages are an asset
- Prior experience with sourcing/originating transactions would be a major asset
- Experience fostering relationships with private business owners, C‑suite leaders, and intermediaries
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Superior organizational and project management abilities
- Understanding of the M&A process is an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside and/or coaching diverse people and perspectives
