Position

Purpose:

The Toronto Zoo is currently recruiting seasonal staff for the 2026 Peak Season to work in our Partnerships & Events Branch. These positions are responsible for providing support in the areas of event coordination & execution (public, corporate and community events), mascot program support and administrative support.

Core Role Responsibilities
  • Support and coordination of the Zoo’s special event programming.
  • Support of corporate and group events.
  • Support and coordination of special exhibits and openings.
  • Support of Sponsorship and Partnerships as required.
  • Assists in maintaining partnerships & events records, files, databases, mailing lists and correspondence.
  • Responds to telephone, website and general inquiries from the public and other organizations when required.
  • Prepares responses to general correspondence when required.
  • Support guest relations with crowd control and guest experience needs as required.
  • Coordinate and wear the Toronto Zoo Mascots costumes both on Zoo site and at off-site functions as required.
  • Assists with the preparation of sales and promotion materials, including brochures, for distribution.
  • Writing itineraries, contracts, memos and other communication materials.
  • Other related duties as requested by the Supervisor and/or Manager.
Technical Knowledge And Skills
  • Working towards a certificate or diploma in Events, Public Relations and/or Communications at Community College or University level, or the equivalent amount of experience and training.
  • Must have proven, exceptional, interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word applications including Excel.
  • Must have demonstrated superb written and verbal communication skills using the English language, fluency in another language an asset.
  • Must be capable of performing the physical demands of the job.
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Valid Class-G driver’s license in good standing is required.
