TDMS provides reliable, flexible, and easy-to-use e-commerce and Point of Sale (POS) card payment solutions to small business, commercial, and corporate clients of TD Bank.
Job DescriptionAs a key member of the TDMS National Accounts team, the Account Manager will be accountable for portfolio management and acquisition of a portfolio of Mid-Market accounts within TD Merchant Solutions. The Account Manager will build relationships with customers within the portfolio, from day‑to‑day contacts through to C‑level executives, with a focus on retention strategies and revenue growth, working in collaboration with key TD Business Banking Partners for new acquisition opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for portfolio growth objectives including seeking new sales and cross‑sell opportunities with Banking partners and existing Merchants to build stronger engagement
- Work closely with stakeholders within the TDMS team (i.e. Product & Pricing, Solution Consultants, Credit, Client Delivery, etc.) in support of the overall business strategy while delivering superior merchant experience results
- Demonstrate TD's commitment to being a client centric institution where Merchant Experience is a priority
- Build and develop meaningful relationships with key Bank Partners (i.e. Securities, Commercial National Accounts, Asset Based Lending, Auto Finance, etc.) to drive new merchant acquisition for TDMS and to fully franchise existing merchant relationships across the Bank
- Retain and grow profitable merchant relationships to meet business goals
- Work quickly to address and resolve merchant issues
- Show a deep understanding of customer needs; provide advice and present relevant opportunities and payment solutions
- Become an expert in Payments and the competitive landscape to act as an advisor to clients ensuring they are kept abreast of what is happening in the payments industry
- Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input while remaining objective and resilient to reach the right outcomes
- Strong business acumen with proven Sales (preferably Software, Services, and Payments related Sales) and Relationship Management experience and highly motivated to achieve results
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the capacity to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and identify/assess risks and issues
- Previous experience working in Merchant Solutions, Payments, in a client‑facing capacity
- Bilingual (French/English), verbal and written is beneficial
- Some flexibility to work extended hours as needed to support customers
- Travel to Merchant/client offices will be required including coming into the office from time‑to‑time based on business needs
