Position: Apprentice Technician  2nd or 3rd year

BMW Toronto is actively seeking a 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Technician for a full time position.

Job Function:
The responsibility of an Apprentice Technician is to assist the technicians in performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work in accordance of all dealer and factory standards, under the supervision of a licensed Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of a licensed Technician, assist in diagnose, repair, and service vehicle to the accepted quality standards.
  • Under the supervision of a licensed Technician, examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Advise Technician or service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
  • Communicate with service team and the Parts Department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer.
  • Ensure customers’ vehicles are returned clean.
  • Account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
  • Achieve the required level of performance dictated by shop objectives.
  • Produce quality work that shows pride of workmanship.
  • Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
  • Participate in training and meetings as required; keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
  • Report any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel or customers, maintain a clean work environment.

  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated team player.
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative.
