McMillan has an exciting opportunity for an intermediate or senior Legal Administrative Assistant in our Toronto Employment and Labour Group/Litigation. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in managing legal and administrative aspects of the practice for three successful legal professionals.
What You’ll Do- Act as the go‑to person for your team, providing guidance and organizational support.
- Draft correspondence as part of daily administrative responsibilities.
- Manage and organize documents within the firm’s document management system.
- Handle office and file organization tasks.
- Prepare accounts and related documentation.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings as needed.
- Manage calendars for efficient workflow.
- Use technology to support client service in an efficient and effective manner.
- Draft court documents and pleadings, including motions and affidavits of service.
- Conduct court searches.
- Schedule applications and questionings.
- Assist with pre‑trial and trial preparation.
- Manage limitation systems.
- Support filings with the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
- Assist with immigration‑related matters.
- Legal Assistant Diploma with a minimum of 7–10 years of Employment and Labour experience.
- Experience working with the Human Rights Tribunal, Ontario Labour Relations Board, and Employment Tribunals.
- Strong litigation background, including knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Familiarity with processes of the Superior Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada.
- Knowledge of Ministry of Labour, WSIB, and immigration procedures (asset).
- Strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong team player offering exceptional client service.
- Comfortable working with evolving technology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Desksite, Int App, and 3E or similar document management, file‑opening, and accounting software.

- Salary range - $60,000–$75,000 annually
