An Intermediate Staff Accountant works directly with senior members to provide accounting and tax support, while delivering an exceptional level of client service.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all work related to completion of compilation and review engagements
- Complete all sections of corporate, personal and trust tax returns
- Prepare rudimentary tax research and analysis
- Preparation of T4, T5 and GST/HST returns
- Communicate with CRA to resolve issues
- Maintain books of entities in following industries:
Real estate, investment management, medical/dental office and entertainment - Identify accounting or tax issues: consults with senior in charge
- Responsible for file completion
- Coaches junior members of the team when necessary
- Ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently and on timely basis
- Complete tasks and related follow ups in an autonomous manner
- Conduct mandates under professional standards by using sound techniques and methodologies
- Always protect confidentiality of information
- CPA designation or in progress
- Public accounting experience of minimum 1 years
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Extensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Good knowledge of Caseware, Caseview, Profile and Quickbooks Online
- Self‑motivated and organized
- Ability to deliver in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients and team members
