RSM is looking for an Assurance Senior Associate to join our Lending team. Lending focuses on banking and specialty finance, where we are the middle market leaders throughout the country.

• Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating audits of complex financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables
• Develop an understanding of the client's business and needs, and become an industry specialist to address client-specific needs
• Understand and utilize RSM’s Global Audit Methodology
• Train and supervise Audit Associates on engagement teams and act as in-charge, facilitating field work by monitoring productivity and adherence to work plan schedules
• Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise
• Interact with clients to ensure efficient information flow between client and audit team
• Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to manager/senior manager and partner on engagement
• Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as board communications and letters
• Recognize industry-specific and general accounting and auditing issues, including revenue recognition, business combinations, debt and equity accounting; determine appropriate audit approach
• Identify performance improvement opportunities for team members
• Ensure professional development through ongoing education
• Willingness to travel 25% of the year, depending on clients

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university
• 2 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment
• Understanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and GAAS regulations
• CPA Certification in good standing or demonstrated progress towards CPA certification, including required coursework
• Demonstrated experience and ability to act as in-charge on engagements
• Willingness to take supervision and guidance

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
• Critical thinking and ability to work independently

We offer a competitive benefits and compensation package. Salary range: CA $58,500 – CA $94,000. Individuals selected for this role are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
