Position: Accounting and Payroll Administrator (Full-time)
Position Type: Full-Time Permanent
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (on-site)
Compensation: $23.60 - $29.50 hourly
Reports to: Director of Finance

Position Summary
This is a vacant position. Responsible for supporting the Finance Department of Senior Persons Living Connected, St. Paul’s L’Amoreaux Centre and St. Paul’s Terrace Seniors Residence in all areas including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, deposits, petty cash, and quarterly- and year-end reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll for hourly & salaried employees in a timely & accurate manner
- Ensures all proper deductions and contributions are processed accurately
- Responds to employee and government payroll inquiries
- Prepares customized reports as needed such as ROEs and T4s
- Prepares EHT, WSIB monthly filing and annual returns
- Prepares Payroll journals and post in accounting software
- Reconciles Payroll Balance Sheets Accounts monthly basis
- Prepares bank reconciliations monthly
- Collecting client payments as required ensures the security of payments during vacation coverage
- Prepares bank deposit for cash and cheques received either weekly or as required
- Suggets, creates and implements value added changes in finance and other areas
- Contributes to client safety by ensuring timeliness, appropriateness, quality and security of communications, cash and administration
Qualifications
- Completion of Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Three to four (3
- 4) years full cycle of accounting experience - Six months to One (6 months
- 1) year of payroll experience. - Experience using payroll and accounting systems such as ACCPAC, Great Plains, Quadrant HR, or Quick Books software required
- Must be flexible with hours and can work occasional additional hours when required to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to speak a second language an asset
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Advanced Excel skills
- Vulnerable Sector screening required
- Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or medical exception.
