Under the general direction of the President and the Senior VP of Accounting, the Accounting Clerk has a critical role in supporting the day-to-day activities of the accounting department. This position demands accuracy and the ability to be proactive in order to perform general accounting and administrative functions to support the on-going and effective management of various projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, ensuring accurate charging of accounts.
  • Manage and process customer payments/deposits.
  • Provide account reconciliations, AR/AP statements, and invoice copies with backup as requested.
  • Help maintain all financial records and appropriate ledgers.
  • Entering accounting information to “Jonas” software program.
  • Answer account inquiries with regard to invoices, credit notes and payments.
  • Reviews and reconciles past due accounts
  • Post bank entries and occasional bank runs for certified cheque processing and other transactions
  • Ensure all contracts and agreements meet internal standards for accuracy and completeness before execution.
  • Ensure accuracy of all accounting records, including the filing system
  • Assisting in other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post Secondary Education in Accounting with minimum 1-year of accounting related experience
  • Extremely organized, ability to anticipate requests and be proactive in managing multiple priorities
  • Professional, reliable & punctual
  • Meet all deadlines/ tasks & very good with numbers.
  • Taking responsibility & initiative in all scenarios.
  • Resourceful & solid problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team player who can also work independently.
  • Overtime may be required as needed.
