We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant who can handle both bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities across several business units. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys both the transactional detail and the bigger-picture reporting.
Key Responsibilities Core Accounting & Bookkeeping- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple subsidiaries, including GL, AP, AR, payroll postings, and bank accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in a timely manner.
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations (cash, receivables, payables, intercompany, prepaid, accruals, etc.).
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes across multiple BUs.
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
- Maintain schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation for audits and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and internal controls.
- Prepare expense analyses of major accounts and identify trends or anomalies.
- Extract, transform, and analyze data from ERP/accounting systems for reporting.
- Provide support to BU managers by answering finance-related queries and explaining results.
- Assist in budget tracking and monitoring, providing insights into variances.
- Ensure accurate documentation and audit readiness of all financial records.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external auditors and tax filings.
- Stay up-to-date on accounting policies, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-BU environment preferred.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations) and accounting software (Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to resolve discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with non-finance stakeholders.
- Integrity, accountability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
