Bookeeper

Overview

Quick Scrap Metal is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage daily financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate has experience in bookkeeping, understands high-volume transactions, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment.

• Record daily financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank statements, cash drawers, and credit card accounts
• Track scrap purchases, vendor payments, and customer invoices
• Maintain accurate ledgers and supporting documentation
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with closing
• Process payroll and ensure accurate employee records (if applicable)
• File sales tax and assist with compliance requirements
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors as needed
• Maintain organized financial records in compliance with company policies

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
• Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting best practices
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or SAP)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential financial information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience in recycling, manufacturing, or scrap metal industry is a plus
