YourRole Will Include
As Senior Accountant, you will be working on multiple infrastructure assets across Canada and the USA, overseeing day‑to‑day accounting for various projects: transaction accounting, posting entries, processing invoices, AP, AR, and account reconciliations. You will ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and ASPE, and support accurate and timely maintenance of financial records.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee record keeping and general ledger maintenance, including reviewing the accuracy of sales invoices, incoming payments, and supplier statements.
- Record monthly journal entries in the accounting system, focus on accuracy and compliance, and perform account reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial data.
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial statements and lead the month‑end close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare year‑end audit working papers and liaise with external auditors.
- Compile tax schedules and coordinate with external tax advisors for the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns.
- Mentor and guide junior staff as part of a cohesive team.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a project‑based environment.
- Working toward a CPA designation.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
- Fluent in English (French preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency with accounting software and intermediate Excel skills preferred.
