Job Summary: US Tax Lead demonstrates strong tax compliance proficiency and a range of experience preparing/reviewing U.S. and Canadian Corporate and Partnership income tax returns. The candidate is knowledgeable in Partnership and Corporate tax matters, flow through entities such as a S Corporations and Partnerships and LLCs.

Key Responsibilities:
- The candidate will lead and have complete oversight of the Tax Function for Hove Street Properties Limited.
- In this role, they will lead the compliance process and work with our Service Providers ( Big
4) to complete the US and CDN Tax Returns. - Review Federal, state and local income tax returns for US partnerships and corporations, and US tax forms such as K1, Form 1099, Forms 8804 and 8805, Form 8813, and Form 1042.
- Review Canadian Corporate federal and provincial income tax returns, and Canadian tax forms such as T5, T1134, T1135, and T106.
- Prepare "Canadianization" calculations to convert US taxable income to Canadian taxable income for non-US investors, as well as standardizing all Canadianization calculation templates.
- Review working papers and supporting documents prepared by accountants on the team.
- Responsible for the entire Tax Function including tax compliance season coordination, including liaising with external service providers and the accounting team to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Review year-end adjusting journal entries proposed by external service providers.
- Provide guidance to and work proactively with the accounting team to resolve tax related issues.
- Research tax matters and summarize findings.
- Other adhoc projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience with reviewing US Partnership and Corporate tax returns.
- Bachelors in Accounting or Business and CPA required.
- Excellent organizational skill and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to work under a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to work both individually and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Adobe.
- Knowledgeable in accounting/tax software, such as Taxprep, One Source, MRI and Quickbook.
