Tax Associate

Location: Toronto, ON | Hybrid (GTA-based) – 2 days in office

Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000

We’re working with a boutique, tech-enabled tax and accounting firm that’s growing thoughtfully and looking to add a Tax Associate to its close-knit team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of tax experience who wants exposure beyond routine compliance and is excited to grow in a collaborative, modern environment.

About the Role

As a Tax Associate, you’ll support a variety of tax and accounting engagements, working closely with senior team members on tax compliance, tax planning support, reorganizations, M&A-related work, and accounting projects
. You’ll gain hands‑on experience while learning to leverage technology and cloud-based tools to deliver high-quality client service.

This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys learning, values teamwork, and wants to build a strong foundation in tax within a firm that encourages growth and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support tax compliance and consulting engagements for a diverse client base
  • Assist with tax planning, reorganizations, and M&A-related projects
  • Prepare working papers, schedules, and draft technical documentation
  • Use cloud-based accounting and tax tools to support client deliverables
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and client needs
  • Participate in continuous process improvement and adoption of new tools
What We’re Looking For
  • 2‑3 years of relevant tax experience in public practice or a professional services environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Excel (including Power Query)
  • Tax software (e.g., CCH Taxprep)
  • Accounting systems such as Quick Books or Xero
  • Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team
