Our client is one of Canada's fastest-growing retailers. In just six years, they have more than doubled their footprint, expanding from a handful of locations to over 40 brick-and-mortar stores across Ontario. Despite this rapid scale, they have maintained a close-knit, family-oriented culture where performance is rewarded with trust and independence.
Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, you will take ownership of the General Ledger for a complex, multi-entity retail ecosystem. This is not a "maintenance mode" position; it is a high-volume, hands-on role where you will manage the accounting for 40+ distinct cost centers and over 50 corporate dimensions.
You will be stepping in during a critical period of growth and technology upgrades, playing a key role in the migration from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Business Central.

- High-Volume GL Management:
Manage day-to-day GL operations across dozens of corporate entities, ensuring accurate booking of revenue, expenses, and intercompany transactions. - Inventory & Costing:
Oversee costing, valuation, and reconciliation between the sub-ledger and GL, catching variances in a high-SKU environment. - ERP Migration:
Act as a financial subject matter expert in the transition from Dynamics NAV to Business Central over the next 6-8 months. - Reconciliations:
Perform rigorous bank and balance sheet reconciliations for individual accounts for each store, troubleshooting data discrepancies efficiently. - Audit & Compliance:
Prepare audit working papers and assist in the transition toward full external audits (Big 4 standard); apply ASPE principles.
- Experience:
3-6+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally within a Retail or high-volume multi-entity environment. - Designation: CPA or other professional accounting designation.
- Technical
Skills:
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) or Business Central (strong preference but not a must). - Excel Mastery:
Handle massive datasets using Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs. - Soft Skills:
Self-directed with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude, spotting problems and being solution oriented.
