We are seeking an In-Home Support Specialist to join our team.
Starting Salary: $ 40,000
This role will work with families who have children ranging from age 11-18 and are at risk of entering foster care due to their behaviors. The goal is to keep the family together safely. Supports provided by the Specialist may include providing household support, babysitting/supervision, acting as another safe adult in the home, providing homework assistance, etc. Support may also be provided in the community in the form of daily routine assistance such as helping with transportation, helping with shopping, or running errands, etc.
As a member of the Family Preservation team, you will work with other team members and report to our Manager Family Preservation.
- Meet with families and/or respite caregivers in their home or community to provide direct support in navigating the challenges of caring for youth with behaviors.
- Provide direct household support such as babysitting, acting as another safe adult in the home, homework assistance, etc.
- Provide direct support in the community via daily routine assistance like helping with transportation, helping with shopping, errands, etc.
- Work closely with the Family Preservation team, families, and respite caregivers to identify their support needs to ensure that children are safe.
Our ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in child and family services and the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor's degree in social work or other human services related field, preferred.
- At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical, and drug screening.
- A valid driver's license in the state you reside in, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.
