Company has been in business since 1932 providing delicious snacks and dips across the world. We are currently accepting applications for a Mechanic to work in Topeka, KS.

Compensation
  • Hourly Pay $28.71-$33.39 per hour, based on experience
  • Annual tool allowance

Work Schedule
  • 24/7 operation; work four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Work schedules bid annually by seniority
  • New employees should expect to work 2nd or 3rd shifts to start but this will change over time
  • Work schedule may change based on business needs; must be flexible with work schedule
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform preventative and as-needed maintenance of diesel trucks
  • Properly attend to truck inventory
  • Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals
  • Travel to locations to perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with management, providing them with detailed breakdowns of service requirements and costs
  • Maintain schedules and document completed preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
  • Maintain parts and yard organization (with direction from operations management) to ensure a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of previous technical experience with Class 8 Commercial Tractors and Trailers
  • Air Brake Systems Certification
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot repairs using diagnostic systems
  • ASE Certification is preferred
  • Knowledge of air, electronic, braking, and suspension systems as well as general mechanical operation and/or light body repair
  • Familiar with FHWA (Federal Highway Administration), and FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations), BIT (Basic Inspection of Terminals) inspections
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds
  • Candidate must provide his/her own tools
